Presentation of budget by Yes/No chairmen, a mere child play- Osun ALGON
The leadership of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Osun State has described the purported presentation of 2026 budget by the Yes/No chairmen to a non existent body of councillors as a mere child play.

A statement released by the media office of the state chapter of ALGON under the leadership of Hon Sarafadeen Abiodun Awotunde said the action of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Yes/No chairmen was that of comedian.

Describing the Yes/No chairmen and their co-travelers as mere charlatans as a result of their action, the ALGON leadership chastised them for their show of shame which was capable of bringing shame to a respected state like Osun.

ALGON notes with disdain the purported pretty of year 2026 budget to the legislative arm of government at the local government level after the recognized and legally recognized local government executive had presented a well prepared budget to the state parliament.

Recall that the duly elected council chairmen in the state had weeks ago presented a well prepared and articulated budget to the state legislature under the leadership of Rt Hon Adewale Olumide Egbedun.

The statement reads in part "we have it on good authority that the state House of Assembly through the House committee on Finance and Appropriation is already looking at the budget presented to the House by all the Local Government chairmen in the state.

"It's therefore surprising that a group of comedians would go ahead to stage another drama at the local government secretariats and present a kangaroo budget which was not prepared by local government personnel, especially staff of the Finance department.

"This is lawlessness taken too far and a sharp abuse of power, using the federal might as a baton to fight and cause undue tension in their lawless act.

"The people of Osun, ditto Nigeria know the antics of these charlatans who have no respect for the rule of law and due process.

"Those who are hellbent at causing mayhem in the state are advised to desist from such move as posterity and history will not be kind to them."
