10 UNIMED students bag 2025 Millennium Fellowship
The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Ondo State students have been selected into the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025 by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN).

The Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr Isaac Oluyi who disclosed this in a statement said nine out of the 10 students are females, a development which he said underscores the university's growing roles in championing female leadership, inclusion and empowerment in higher education. 

According to Oluyi, the Millennium Fellowship is one of the most competitive student leadership programmes worldwide.

He said "each year, it brings together exceptional undergraduates from more than 100 nations for a transformative leadership journey that runs from August to December, with fellows receiving intensive training in leadership, advocacy and project management while implementing social impact projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"This achievement affirms that UNIMED is not only producing change makers but also driving a culture of gender equity where women are taking the lead in shaping solutions for a better world," he added.

The President, Students Union Government of the university, Kalejaiye Abolaji John said "this recognition goes beyond individual accomplishments. It shines a global light on UNIMED’s dedication to raising leaders who are globally competitive, socially responsible and impact-driven."

"The fact that nine out of 10 Fellows are women is especially inspiring. it reflects the power of female leadership and the bright future of inclusive excellence we are building at UNIMED,” he stressed.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe expressed her delight at the development and encouraged the students not to rest on their oars. 

“It is exactly the direction we want to go. I want to see our students not just shinning nationally, but also becoming globally relevant. I congratulate the new Fellows and encourage them not to rest on their oars,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

The students selected are:  Boluwatife Ogunwole, Favour Chukwudebe, Gift Olubusola, Ifedolapo Oriade, Nifemi Obalokun, Olamide Oludoju, Oluwasekemi Osalade, Oluwatobi Muyiwa, Oluwatosin Ebiseni andTemitope Sowole.
