Edigbon of Edemosi faces trial over alleged conversion of farm land 
The Edigbon of Edemosi in Ila Local Government Area of Osun State, Oba Samuel Olaniyan has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital over allegations bothering on stealing, malicious damage and illegal conversion of farm land.

The monarch was arraigned alongside Kazeem Adeoti, Adebayo Adewale, Mohammed Jamiu
Elewude Tunmise and Jimoh Agboola.

The matter was transfered to Osogbo division of the Magistrate Court from Ila Orangun division.

The monarch is facing trial on a 10 count charge of allegations which include stealing, malicious damage of property and conversion of farm land among others.

When the charges were read to Oba Olaniyan at the resumed hearing of the case on Thursday, he pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against him.

Olaniyan was alleged to have maliciously damaged cocoa tree inside the farm of one Oyetunji Taiwo, an offence which was contrary to and punishable under section 451 of the criminal code cap 34, vol 11, laws of Osun State of Nigeria.

Also, Olaniyan was alleged to have illegally converted palm oil farm belonging to Dr Ademola Ekundayo to his own.

Besides, he was alleged of malicious damage of property contrary to and punishable under section 517 of the criminal code, cap 34 vol 11 laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.

The court at its hearing on Thursday cross examined four witnesses and adjourned further hearing to 10th June at the Ila Orangun division of the court.
