Scrap Dealers Association inaugurates task force

Scrap Dealers Association inaugurates task force
The National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers of Nigeria (NASWDEN) has inaugurated anti-vandals taskforce to combat act of vandalism across the country.

This development, the association said was to purge miscreants that are disguising as scrap dealers out of the association.

Some miscreants who pretend to be scrap dealers were alleged to be involved in vandalism of national assets in some parts of the country, thereby bringing disrepute to the association of scrap dealers.

At the inauguration of the taskforce, the acting President of the association, Alhaji Ibrahim Soja said the association came up with the formation of taskforce on vandalism because of the bad reputation that the activities of vandals have brought to bonafide and legitimate scrap dealers in the country.

Henceforth, he said, there will be total war against any illegal operator of scrap working in any part of the country.

He therefore charged scrap dealers across the country to perfect their membership registration and steer clear of illegal dealings.

Also, Soja charged members of the taskforce not to indulge in extortion, intimidation and favoritism in the cause of discharging their duties.

He explained that the formation of NASWDEN taskforce is a critical requirement to checkmate activities of criminals within the association and as well curb illegal ticketing that have been sabotaging its progress.
