Action Alliance reacts to Federal High Court judgment on Ondo guber candidate

The Action Alliance (AA) has reacted to the reports in a section of the media on the recent judgement of the Federal High Court Abuja on the choice of candidate for the governorship election in Ondo State.

The party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, comrade Olu Omotoso alleged that the reports were twisted.

He said "It has come to the knowledge of the national executive of the Action Alliance, that a case of right to present a candidate brought before the Federal High Court, Abuja in the tussle about the candidacy of the Action Alliance in the coming Ondo state Governorship Election fast approaching, is now being twisted mischievously to appear as setting aside a rested case by the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court.

"The pre-election matter was to ask INEC to respect the judgement of the Supreme Court of the land that ruled that, Kenneth Obidiche Udeze has ceased to be a member of the Action Alliance haven been suspended and ultimately expelled from the party in 2020.

"The matter was to bring to the notice of the court as presided over by Hon. Justice Abdumalik of the Federal High Court, Abuja division.

"The matter was dismissed by the judge on the ground that it is an intraparty affair that the court would not want to decide upon because of lack of jurisdiction. This was the situation on the 23rd of September, 2024. However, we were appalled to hear and read news headlines stating that Kenneth Obidiche has been declared chairman of the Action Alliance by the judge.

"What sort of malicious audacity to misinform and deceive the citizens, and an attack on the integrity of the court by making it to appear as if the lower court is setting aside the subsisting judgement of the Supreme Court of the land.

"Haven put to rest the leadership contest of the Action Alliance, the highest court in the land had declared that Kenneth Obidiche Udeze is no longer a member of the  party haven been expelled by the party.

"This attempt to stand the law on it’s head by deliberate and mischievous attempt at deceiving the people is the height of shenanigans of a supposed legal practitioner called Udeze.

"We like to set the record straight in this respect with this release to inform the unsuspecting populace that the information going round on the social media, print and the electronic media like Channels and Arise televisions are mare fabrication of falsehood that should be discountenanced.

"The position of the law in Nigeria today as regards the leadership of Action Alliance is that Kenneth Obidiche Udeze is neither a member of the party nor part of the leadership team of the Action Alliance.

"The highest court in the land is supreme on any matter of contest, and once a judgement is entered in a matter by the court, that judgement becomes sacrosanct. We advise the general public to be mindful of the demonic intrigues of the meddlesome interloper called Kenneth Obidiche Udeze in matters that concerns Action Alliance to avoid getting scammed politically.

"Much has been said about the unethical practices and approaches of the serial looser in the media for a long time now, so we expect that all persons should have been enlightened enough to steer clear of this character called Kenneth.

"In due course, the role of INEC and it’s leadership in the devilish attack on our party will be made public for all to see," he added.
